Peter Kinsella was born in Manchester in St Augustine's parish, he originally qualified as a teacher and worked at St Malachy's, Collyhurst until deciding to follow his vocation and become a Priest, he trained at the Baeda College, Rome, and at Ushaw and was ordained at St Edward's, Rusholme on 2 July 1994.
Fr Peter served a very short period of curacy from 1994 to 1995 at St Patrick's, Livesey Street before being asked to go to Ordsall as Parish Priest at St Joseph's, I think he was the 5th priest to be appointed there in the five years since Pere Carey had retired, and while his predecessors had struggled to cope with the many challenges the parish presented, Fr Peter took them in his stride and remained for seven years. In 2002 he was asked to move to St Boniface's, Lower Broughton (while also continuing to serve St Joseph's), it was during this time that a structural collapse released asbestos in the 1960s church, which was closed, and a chapel was opened in the parish centre. After a further six years of this arrangement, Fr Peter moved out to Ss Peter & Paul, Pendleton where he would serve for five years.
In 2013 after nearly twenty years in inner city Salford, Fr Peter was sent out to the provinces to take charge of the parishes at Denton, Tameside, these parishes were going through a difficult time, but under the wise guidance of Fr Peter, and of course Ali the dog, the community was united and strengthened.
